Fiction

“I am poorly made, loosely held together by strings formed from sheer will. A passing breeze or a slight shift in the earth beneath my feet would surely bring my demise.”

These were the confessions of a middle aged man whose name was on the lips of everyone the world over. He was a man of great means who was not easily ignored and stood far above his peers. He was unmatched, unrivalled, undisputed, he was simply the greatest.

Yet…a great pain resided within him! It was intangible, gnawing at his very soul, crying out to be let loose on the world and made bare for all to see…

His big secret was that regardless of people's adulation, he had always been insecure and constantly crippled with self-doubt! What the world saw was only a shell. A form carefully created at the start of each new day to lay claim to a name that was only skin deep. This is a fiction that is played out within so many people today, a constant battle raging inside between their inner self-worth and outward persona.

The key to breaking this fiction however is truly simple. Realise that every single person on this planet, whether male or female, black or white, young or old, struggle at some point with their self-esteem. How you truly overcome is strengthening your resolve amidst the doubt and to believe in one indisputable law. Simply put, it is you who decides what is fact or fiction about your personality.

It is your choice whether a moment's weakness in your mind-set is a character trait or an abnormality soon to be banished from your thoughts. Only then can you truly shed the facade and let your true nature shine.
